Library Love

Libraries are more than just buildings filled with books — they are gateways to learning, discovery, and connection. Every time I step into a library, I'm reminded that knowledge is always within reach, no matter who you are or where you come from. It's a welcoming space where curiosity is encouraged, ideas are explored, and everyone belongs. Whether it's discovering a new book, attending a community event, or simply finding a quiet corner to think, libraries offer something for everyone.

I love visiting my local Cobb County, GA, library because it reminds me that learning never ends and everyone deserves access to it.

Recently, the Georgia State Senate voted 32-23 to pass Senate Bill 74 on Monday, March 3, 2024. The Republican-backed bill potentially opens librarians to charges for allowing minors access to what's being deemed as harmful materials. This puts a parental onus on staff and risks misdemeanor charges. It politicizes what material is acceptable or not. Click the link for more information on this bill by reading WABE.org's coverage.
